I-ThERM presented at ‘International Conference on Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains-ICSEF2017’, 19-21 April 2017,Windsor, UK.

The I-ThERM project was presented during the one day Symposium on ‘Heat Recovery and Efficient Conversion and Utilisation of Waste Heat’ which took place on 20 April 2017. The Symposium was included in the work programme of the ‘International Conference on Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains-ICSEF2017’ which took place 19-21 April 2017 at the Beaumont Estate Hotel in Windsor, UK.

ICSEF 2017 (http://www.foodenergy.org.uk/events.html ) reported on the latest thinking, technologies and approaches for energy demand reduction and minimisation of resource use, including water and waste, across all stages of food chains from primary production to consumption and waste management. The conference gathered audience from different disciplines whose common interest is energy demand reduction in food chains. Given the major challenges now facing the food and energy sectors, this conference provided an ideal opportunity to discuss ways of addressing these challenges, network and meet experts in these areas.

Papers on I-ThERM technical aspects and advancements of the first 18 months of the project were presented during the one day Symposium on ‘Heat Recovery and Efficient Conversion and Utilisation of Waste Heat’ . These papers will be published by Elsevier on-line in the open-access Energy Procedia series https://www.journals.elsevier.com/energy-procedia.

I-ThERM project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 680599.
