I-ThERM present in the 31st International Conference on Surface Modification Technologies (SMT 31), 5-7 July 2017, University of Mons, Belgium

I-ThERM project participated in the 31st International Conference on Surface Modification Technologies (SMT 31), which took place during 5-7 July 2017, at the University of Mons in Belgium.

The 31st International Congress on Surface Modification Technologies (SMT31) covered the progress on all aspects of surface modification technologies. The conference addressed industrial materials (metals, alloys polymers, ceramics, composites, etc) and advanced materials and processes, from the macroscopic to the microscopic standpoint. The audience of the Congress included producers, users and researchers, engineers and scientists that have an interest in Surface Modification. The Congress facilitated the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas among the community of people that use, improve, develop, research and assess surface modification processes.

I-ThERM project was represented by one of the partners of the project, the Technological Educational Institute of Sterea Ellada (TEISTE). The representatives from TEISTE, presented the project in the session of the conference with subject: “Hydro/Oleo/Ice Phobic/philic surfaces” and also participated in a poster session presenting technology developed during the I-ThERM project with the title: “Corrosion protection of stainless steels used in condensing economizers”.

I-ThERM present in the 1st international conference on AdvanceS in Energy systems and Environmental engineering (ASEE17), 2-6 July 2017, Wroclaw, Poland.

I-ThERM was present in the 1st international conference on AdvanceS in Energy systems and Environmental engineering (ASEE17), which took place during 2 – 6 July 2017, in Wroclaw, Poland.

The 1st International conference on advances in energy systems and environmental engineering (ASEE17) was organized by Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland), The university of New Mexico (USA) and Brunel University London (UK). This event aimed at bringing together scientists and engineers involved in Energy and Environment (ASEE17 Brochure).

In this conference, the activities related to the flat heat pipe (WP6) design and preliminary tests were disseminated as a podium presentation by Brunel University London and ArcelorMittal. Furthermore, Spirax Sarco and Brunel University London promoted the overall I-ThERM project through a keynote talk on the low grade heat to power conversion opportunity that is going to be tackled through the activities in WP4.
